Join our intensive 5-week program, delivered face to face four days a week.
This program is has been developed to support participants of the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program to develop language. literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills in a workplace context, providing opportunity for employment and/ or further education.
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is a free Australian Government training initiative helping individuals to improve their reading, writing, maths, English language and digital skills. Further information, including eligibility criteria is available here.
With training provided by an employability skills and language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy specialist and an experienced retail industry trainer, you will acquire essential foundation skills that significantly enhance your employability in the retail sector. You will be provided with:
- Direct links to employment opportunities
- Targeted foundation skill development
- Increased confidence to work in a customer facing role
- Training from subject matter experts
- A friendly and supportive training environment
On completion of the course you will be able to
- Offer guidance to customers regarding products and services
- Engage effectively with a wide array of customers
- Assist with inquiries and promote a service-oriented environment
- Establish rapport with customers and cultivate loyalty
- Demonstrate improved verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibit increased confidence in professional relationships with stakeholders
- Apply enhanced digital and numeracy skills effectively
- Demonstrate increased knowledge and improved morale
The units of competency included in the training are:
- SIRXCEG001 Engage the customer
- SIRXCEG003 Build customer relationships and loyalty
- SIRXPDK001 Advise on products and services
This course is suited to people who are:
- Seeking to develop foundation skills to prepare for employment in customer service.
- Seeking face-to-face training.
- Wanting to develop skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Enrolment requirements:
- Participation in Pre-Training Assessment interview
- Meet SEE eligibility criteria
To be eligible for SEE you need to be either:
- an Australian citizen or
- a permanent visa holder or
- on a provisional or temporary visa with working rights and eligible for the Adult Migrant English Program or
- a Pacific Australian Labour Mobility visa holder.
And be:
- aged over 15 years and left school.
